Leon Herbert Robinson of 91 Forest Hill [sic: Avenue]. Saranac Lake, was a World War I Veteran of the U.S. Army. A Corporal, July Aut.. Repl. Draft, he died in the sinking of the Otranto. He is likely the same man who is listed as "Leon H. Robinson," of Saranac Lake, in the Essex County Honor Roll of those who served in the World War of 1918-19. The asterisk on the Saranac Lake War Memorial indicates that he was killed in the World War. His name is inscribed on the "Roll of Honor of Citizens of the State of New York who died while in the service of the United States during the World War, Albany (1922)."
